Southwest Airlines adds more flights for popular events, introduces Redeye service and new routes

Special flights for football fans

Comprehensive service for college and professional football

As the official carrier of the Southeastern Conference, Southwest Airlines is expanding its service for college and professional football fans. The airline is offering additional roundtrip flights for several major games:

College football:

  • Las Vegas; September 1, 2024: Dallas (Love Field) to Las Vegas, Houston (Hobby) to Las Vegas
  • Ann Arbor, MI; September 7, 2024: Dallas (Love Field) to Detroit
  • Norman, Okla.; September 21, 2024: From Nashville to Oklahoma City

Professional football:

  • Atlanta; September 22, 2024: From Kansas City to Atlanta
  • Las Vegas; September 29, 2024: From Columbus to Las Vegas

Winter outings

Connecting cold weather cities with warm destinations

Starting January 7, 2025, Southwest will offer more flights from traditionally cold cities to the sunny coasts of Florida and California. The new routes include:

  • Columbus to Miami
  • Chicago (Midway) to Palm Springs
  • From Pittsburgh to Miami
  • Providence to West Palm Beach

Introducing Redeye flights

Night service from February 13, 2025

Southwest’s first redeye flights will begin on February 13, 2025, landing on Valentine’s Day. The first redeye routes will connect Southwest’s top markets:

  • Las Vegas to Baltimore/Washington
  • From Las Vegas to Orlando
  • Los Angeles to Baltimore/Washington
  • From Los Angeles to Nashville
  • Phoenix to Baltimore/Washington

“With these new additions, Southwest Airlines continues to meet customer demand by providing greater flexibility and convenience for travel around major events and popular destinations,” a Southwest Airlines spokesperson said. “Our first night flights offer our customers even more options so they can travel at times that best fit their schedule.”
