David Craig steps down as CEO of Sheffield’s Iceotope

Dates

Sheffield-based Iceotope, a global leader in precision liquid cooling technology, has announced that David Craig has stepped down from the role of CEO.

The company will be jointly led by Chief Commercial Officer Nathan Blom and Chief Financial Officer Simon Jesenko until his successor is appointed.

Craig will continue to advise and support the company during the transition period.

Craig joined Iceotope in June 2015 and during his nine years at the helm, he helped build a company with a clear vision: to develop practical liquid cooling solutions to address emerging challenges such as AI, distributed telco edge, high power dense computing and sustainable data center operations.

During that period, it attracted an international consortium of investors including ABC Impact, British Patient Capital, Northern Gritstone, nVent and SDCL.

The technology would remove almost 100% of the heat generated, reduce energy consumption by 40% and water consumption by 100%.

“The last nine years have been an amazing ride – we’ve built a fantastic team, developed an incredible IP portfolio and created the only liquid cooling solution that addresses the thermal and sustainability challenges facing the data center industry today and tomorrow,” said Craig.

“I have enjoyed every moment and am just proud of the team, the company and the product.

“But it feels like the right time for me to step aside, enjoy my retirement and focus on other passions in my life, particularly my charity work in the UK and Africa. I look forward to the future success of Iceotope and can’t wait to see what else is to come.”

Blom has a leadership background in driving revenue and strategy at Fortune 500 companies including Lenovo and HP. Jesenko is a DeepTech finance executive with experience supporting private equity and venture capital-backed companies in achieving hypergrowth.

George Shaw, Chairman of Iceotope, said: “On behalf of everyone at Iceotope, we would like to thank David for his dedication and endless enthusiasm for the company, the technology and the people who make it all possible.

“We know he will be a great brand ambassador for precision liquid cooling for years to come and we wish him all the best in his well-deserved retirement.”
